"Dhammapada" is a collection of sayings of the Buddha in verse form and one of the most widely read and best known Buddhist scriptures. It comes from the Khuddaka Nikaya, a division of the Pāli Canon of Theravada Buddhism. The music in the beginning and the end is of this and all episodes of this series is from a particular recital of the medieval Japanese translation of The Heart of Great Wisdom Sutra, "Hannya Shingyo," with taiko drum accompaniment.
